Painted Futures

We paint our future
In muted abstract hues
From memories we thought long ago forgotten
In bold mindless brushstrokes we color our lives
Using the dried out tints

Of our yesterdays

Are you living in the present and hoping for a promised future or do the memories of yesterday hold you back? It is so easy to get caught up in the regret of the should have’s and could have’s. What do you think?

    1. Thanks Staci! It is so true we often miss the present. My wife and I were discussing this the other day that we are often so preoccupied with getting where we think we should be in the future that we fail to enjoy the now. Here’s to today!
