Colored dreams
surge
through my mind.
Overhead covered
blanket
of gray skies.
Imagination walks
paths
of colored dreams.

“In the Flow” is my postcard art donation to the Twitter Art Exhibit for 2015 where all proceeds benefit the Home-Start Moss, a nonprofit organization helping families in need in Moss, Norway. Home-Start believes that every child deserves the best start in life. By matching experienced volunteers to families with young children, Home-Start provides support that is free to the family, confidential, and based on individual needs.
Twitter Art Exhibit: Moss is the fifth installment of an open international exhibition of handmade postcard art for charity, donated by hundreds of participating artists from around the globe. Thanks to David Sandrum and the TwitterArtExhibit board members Maria Pedrero and Nat George, for tirelessly promoting this fantastic event. Follow along on Twitter for updates, @twitrartexhibit and be sure to visit the Twitter Art Exhibit website for all the details and to view all the art once the exhibit goes live on March 1st.
Spent some time today chasing one or two of my passions. This a work in progress from the art table today. A 24×18 inch watercolor painting of a horse head that I started.
Not a bad start considering this is the first time I’ve picked up a brush in a couple of months. Still some work to do, but…
So, what are your passions? And will you give yourself permission and commit to pursuing them in the upcoming new year?
“Sunlight Rising” Mixed Media – watercolors, acrylics and pastels; 18×24 inches; Mark Schutter ©2014
Worked on this design over the past weekend. This winged horse design represents a rising of hope and how the light of the sun can chase away the dark and renew that hope within us. I am not sure if it is finished but wanted to post it anyway. What are your thoughts?
‘Confusion Reigns’ Digitally edited using Paint Shop Pro from the original painting pictured below.
An invisible storm swirls within me,
as I cry out silently for your mercy.
Brutal winds cleave the words from me,
as down my face stream tears of pain.
Mixed with the ceaseless pounding rains,
my torn and tattered heart begs for grace.
The roar of thunder drowns out my cries,
sobbing I fall dumbstruck to my knees.
The blackness surrounds me from within,
as a single spark of light pierces through.
Casting haunting shadows in the deep and dark,
a path through the fear into the confusion.
Towards the dreams of dawns first soft light,
clinging to promised visions of hope and love.
