Do You Believe You Can Be, Forgiven and Free?

All of creation sings,
great and small.
The rocks cry out,
grace and mercy!
Every voice will shout,
love and joy!

When the end begins,
darkness and evil.
Casts it deathly pall,
hate and fear.
In the midst of,
pain and suffering

Our faith grows with,
peace and hope.
When all of creation,
believes and sees.
All is made right,
forgiven and free.

We wander through life, searching and sometimes we run. From what?
Away from what we label as:
  • pain
  • hardships
  • loss
  • love
  • and even death
Yes, all of the above and more.
Only to arrive safely at heaven’s door. Is that all there is? Shouldn’t there be so much more?
We miss the adventure, the passion, the life we were meant to have.
Now go and do those very things that scare you and may leave scars on you heart. There is and you can be so much more, Carpe Diem!

Death and Life

image

So death where is your supposed sting?
Don’t you see,
you ain’t no big thing.

You were defeated on a hill long ago.
Once and for all,
it was finished just so.

We cry for those who’ve gone before.
In sadness and grief,
to hope we cling all the more.

As angels rejoice and dance joyfully.
In a living hope,
we believe in a life eternally.

Rest in grace by which we are saved.
From deaths grip,
for which the price was paid.

On our behalf he came willingly for us.
Under heavens curtain,
in mercy not judgement we trust.

I wrote this poem quickly tonight after hearing earlier today that a younger cousin of mine had died following her battle with cancer. I believe that physical death is not the end and that there is a living hope by which we can have eternal life. God bless!

Walking the Path

The PathI hold a vision, from here to there
Where I can see, things of memory
The path lays before me, shining crystal clear
As shadows dance, silently on the fringe
Overcome by desires, that scamper quickly away
While standing still, falls a single rolling tear
One small drop, that holds all my fears
A haunting serenade, redemptive love infringes
Beckons a safe passage, to another world
Where angels play, beyond the undiscovered
Grace reaches softly, no heart left untouched
The broken places, cracks desperately patched
This is where the light, shines into the pain
A question wells up within, as deep calls to deep
How do I ever get, from here to there?

Beyond the Golden Light

Beyond the Golden Light

my eyes burn from the brilliant intensity of the midday sun

sitting in silence listening for answers that never come

my lonely heart beats a strong rhythm within my chest

to fly away into the light or to jump into the fiery furnace

wondering what is beyond the golden light where she might be
