The above is an acrylic painting I completed just recently. The words were written shortly there after as I contemplated the visual with what I show to the world. Thus the view from behind. What do you think? ~M
This is the photograph that became the inspiration for this painting. It was taken outside the arena at my daughter’s last horse show. I love the simplicity of the shadow outline of a rider on horseback. I gave it a twist with a colorful background in the painting above.
Not sure what to say about this little painting other than it simply flowed easily from the end of my brushes. I only had the simple design of the horse shape but no expectation of colors until I started to paint. I like the freedom of this design (and the colors :)) it reminds me of the tragedy of the wild horses of the American West and how they are slowly losing their freedoms and their very lives.
These iconic animals represent America in the freedoms we all enjoy and should remain a fixture on our landscape for future generations. To show your support please like the page Protect Mustangs on Facebook, follow Protect Mustangs on Twitter and visit the webpage –
Begun using acrylics again for the first time in years and the above horse design is my first attempt. I am happy with the way it turned out, hope you enjoy. I hope to have prints of this design available for purchase soon on my Fine Art America site. You can view my other art via the link here on FAA. Thanks for stopping by! ~M
