Dark Horses

Switchfoot – Dark Horses
(acoustic version from the album Vice Verses)

Yeah I made my mistakes, I seen my heart cave in I got my scars, I been to hell and back again Born for the blue skies, We’ll survive the rain born for the sunrise, We’ll survive the pain

[Chorus:]

We’re singing… Hey, you can’t count us out We’ve been running up against the crowd Yeah, we are the dark horses We’re singing… Wait! It’s not over now We’ve been down but we’ve never been out Yeah, we are the dark horses

We found the way out, The city takes everything it can But outside the crowds, I can feel my lungs again Born for the blue skies, We’ll survive the rain Born for the sunrise, We’ll survive the pain

[Chorus]

We’re singing La la la la la la la La la la la la la la. Yeah! Born for the blue skies Born for the blue skies Born for the sunrise We’ll survive the pain

[Chorus:]

We’re singing… Hey, you can’t count us out We’ve been running up against the crowd Yeah, we are the dark horses We’re singing… Wait, don’t care what they say We know we’ll find a way Yeah! We are the dark horses Yeah! Laa la-la-la-la-laa Laa la-la-la-la-laa &

[Faded Voice:]

Keep running with the dark horses Hope makes the blood change courses Keep running with the dark horses Stand up with the dark horses Keep running with the dark horses Hope makes the blood change courses

(This song is a theme song for me.  As an artist, poet and writer these solitary pursuits take me into places that others including myself at times, may fear to go. There can be terrible dangers and evil, but also beauty and light.  I often feel like a dark horse in a world of light horses, but I always have hope and wish to dispense at least a little of that hope to others and shine a light into the dark. God Bless ~M)

Does Science Prove the Existence of Art and God?

Today’s Science Project: Proving the Existence of Art and God
The above video is from the website Reasonable Faith with William Lane Craig.
The ‘kalam cosmological argument’ is an argument for the existence of God and has three simple steps –

Step 1 – Whatever begins to exist has a cause
Step 2 – The universe began to exist
Step 3 – Therefore, the universe has a cause

Based on this idea I originally wrote a post entitled “Creating Art and the Kalam Cosmological Argument” back in October 2012.  I began to think about this argument from the viewpoint of proving the existence of art and/or the creative process.
  1. What begins as a thought is a gift
  2. Art begins with a thought
  3. Therefore art is gift
  1. What begins as a vision can become reality
  2. Art begins with a vision
  3. Therefore art portrays reality
  1. What begins as an idea is true
  2. Art begins as an idea
  3. Therefore art is true
Can you come up with any others related to art or the creative process?  Or other things?  Post your comments below and join in the conversation! ~M

YOU

You wrapped me up in grace

The worst of me succeeded by the best of You…

Cause all I want in this world is more of You

In the less of me it is You!

Increasing as I fade away…

Praying you have a great blessed week! ~M

Great sources of streaming music online are listed below!  There are too many stations to list so I tried to just list different musical styles and the ones that play primarily music.  My favorite is Air1, enjoy and let me know which you like.

Roosevelt Elk, An Ancient Ritual

A short video I took of two young bull male Roosevelt Elk sparring in late October 2012 at Northwest Trek wildlife park in Washington state. Excuse the poor video quality as this was recorded using a cell phone. You use what you have when the moment presents itself.

Music is “Ancient Ritual” by Paul Mottram.
