Can you ever truly return to a moment once it has passed?
Or return to a time that has vanished into a room locked in eternity.
Like smoke through your fingers, the moments are quickly gone.
Is there hope in a return to an ending that is now somehow a beginning?
Once and forever a piece of time, a piece of you disappears into the past.
Never the same, hearts forever changed living now under a different colored sky.
Dreams now vanished into the seemingly endless dark black of night

Begun using acrylics again for the first time in years and the above horse design is my first attempt. I am happy with the way it turned out, hope you enjoy. I hope to have prints of this design available for purchase soon on my Fine Art America site. You can view my other art via the link here on FAA. Thanks for stopping by! ~M
Now I am off to ride!
A happy weekend to all my friends!
What I fear and desire most in the world is God.
I fear Him because He promises to be spontaneous, out of my control, unnamed beyond my reasonable self.
I desire Him because God has color, like the fire that burns hot.
He is not pale, He is not neutral.
His light reveals the darkness of my heart.
“Supposing we really found Him? We never meant it to come to that! Worse still, supposing He had found us?” ~CS Lewis
Poetry adapted from an excerpt from the book “Red: Passion and Patience in the Desert” by Terry Tempest Williams, © 2001
the fire in the fireplace has spilled the flames crawling across the floor,
the flames hungrily consuming as they burn;
throwing my cup of hot chocolate at the flames only makes them hiss in return,
the red and white peppermint stick now dissolving soggily stuck to the floor,
outside the snowstorm rages while flames climb higher up the walls,
blizzard like conditions reflecting snow through the windows panes,
the fury has grounded the reindeer as the storm winds blow,
Santa Claus is frowning at this temporary(?) delay,
prayers are sent heavenward like religion served on a plate,
while the flames continue eating like unexpected relatives,
the house is empty the family had left long ago,
this is Christmas?
spiraling flames light up the holidays dark night,
the winter time bliss is all amiss,
with seasonal carols the flames do sing higher and higher,
the snowflakes collide with the fires heat as the roof is engulfed,
as they the pyre reaches the ice crystals from the eaves they drip,
melting from the bottom to top the candles do shrink into pools,
winter berries lie scorched and black in hopes of next year
(This piece all in fun with tongue firmly planted in cheek was written from the following –
In the spirit of Winter… Use one or more of the words to inspire your pen…
Winter berries, candles, ice crystals, snow flakes, seasonal, winter, holidays, Christmas, family, eating, religion, Santa Claus, reindeer, blizzard, snowstorm, peppermint, hot chocolate, gloves, scarf, boots, fireplace.
