Are you? Am I?
And should we be?
If so, are we frightened enough?
Do we believe that evil does hunt us?
Do we believe that the evil can be defeated?
Do we believe that evil does hunt us? Do we believe that the evil can be defeated? (Yes or No? You must choose a side.) #WickedQuestions #GoodvsEvilTweet
Halloween seems an innocent time of fun, candy and make believe, but is it? There is an evil that lurks behind the masquerade of scary good times. For the evil has cloaked the darkness in light so our eyes are blinded to the true intent. For in the shadows evil plays out its sinister plots to bind the hearts of men and we are oblivious to the reality.
I pray for each soul that believes this day is only innocent fun.
I pray for all on this day, All Hollows Eve, where evil walks among us unknown.
I pray for all safety from the plans of those who reside only in darkness.
I pray that our eyes will be opened to the fact that dragons do exist.
I pray that we pick up the sword of the spirit and defeat the dragons in the name of Jesus Christ.
“Are you frightened? Not nearly frightened enough, I know what hunts you.” #LOTR #Aragorn #Dragons #WarriorsTweet
In the safety of this present darkness
Holding on in the midst of the black
In the place where I hide my madness
From there hope will lead me back

Shine so bright they cannot ignore you!
You can be and are a light shining in someone’s darkness, never doubt that. You were created to be a light, to shine in the darkness that covers our world and seeps into our hearts. Let your light shine, let it illuminate the darkness.
The world needs people who have come alive and aren’t afraid to shine and share their light. There is enough darkness to go around and you can make a difference. #JustBelieve #HopeLives #BeALightTweet
If you are reading this then I am talking to you, you are beautiful!
Never forget and never doubt.
I have two beautiful women in my life, my wife and my daughter, and when things get tough I think of them.
Not only are they beautiful, they bring beauty, joy and love into my life.
Where would I be without them?

A moment of vulnerability my friends. I try really hard to be positive in my outlook on life. But every once in a while, yes every once in a while I fall and slip down into my own darkness. Lately, I have struggled with feelings of inadequacy and uncertainty. Hence, the poem above.
This life on this side of the undiscovered, is not always easy. Things are thrown at us and we are left to deal with it. And sometimes we deal, or cope, better than others. We fall and struggle to get back up. It is then that we must persevere.
We must extend grace to ourselves as we hopefully would to others when they fall. We are all in this together, right? I encourage you, as I will do, to just believe that grace wins and hope lives. Even and especially in those dark and troubled times of life.
What do you think?
Would you see the beautiful darkness that makes me who I am?
Trusting in your answers to my unspoken questions;
Would you hold it gently?
Would you hold it intimately?
Would you hold it carefully?
And when my breath fades;
Would you let me go,
Alone into the alone?
Will you remember the beautiful darkness that made me who I was?
You are and always will be;
That single spark,
Brilliantly illuminating the black,
Of my brokenness.
Finding you shows;
The only reasons why I believe,
My heart answers.
We fit together like;
Interlinking puzzle pieces we are,
Of dark and light.
You see the beautiful darkness
that makes me who I am.
My strong comfort;
You’re everything I need,
What I hope to be.
Your light shines;
Into the darkness of my heart and soul,
Making me a better man.
You have a beautiful darkness
that makes me who I am.

To honor my lovely wife, Carri to celebrate her birthday and my love for her, I wrote the poem above. She knows my darkness and I know hers; and together our union has created a beautiful darkness where we both rest comfortably knowing that we complement each other. Our light illuminates the others darkness! Happy Birthday my love!
