Just Another Saturday

image

Chasing the wind,
as it swirls and moans.
As ominous dark clouds
stream across the sky.
Hiding a velvet blanket of eternal blue.

Rolling on dusty trails,
that seemingly lead nowhere.
As blood slowly drips red
down ever pistoning knees.
Midst tortured lungs and raged breath.

Shredding the downhills,
over scattered rocks and roots.
As a the late evening light
plays hide and seek.
Just another Saturday mountain bike ride.

Dropping into the Void

wpid-img_20150620_103125.jpgDropping into the void
Wheels on the ground
The end unseen
Spins round and round

Pedaling the earths curve
Floating the dusty slide
Dirt washes clean
Shredding the easy glide

Sojourn to forgotten places
Single-track leads us back
Midst beating hearts
  Reaping mercies we lack

How do you find yourself?

We all need serious therapy!

image

We all need some form of therapy (or call it escape if you like) from the craziness of our lives. Two of my favorites are riding my mountain bike and writing.

I love getting out into nature and just pedaling away from my stress. I also love writing; stories, poetry, it doesn’t really matter. I find both cathartic in very different ways.

I also find therapy in my faith, in music, in drawing and painting, in family and friends (at least some of them 🙂 ), and not to forget coffee and chocolate!

What works as therapy  for you?

Freedom Rolling

Freedom RollsThere is a freedom when the tires are rolling over dirt and the only sound you hear is the wind in your ears. ~M

If I can bicycle, I bicycle. ~David Attenborough

I have always struggled to achieve excellence. One thing that cycling has taught me is that if you can achieve something without a struggle it’s not going to be satisfying. ~Greg LeMond

Cycling can be lonely, but in a good way. It gives you a moment to breathe and think, and get away from what you’re working on. ~David Byrne

If biking is your passion, set aside time to enjoy a good ride. ~Patrick Dempsey

What is your passion and what sets you free?

The Power of an Idea

“The wind in your ears blocks out all traces of doubt
and questions about the path you must now pedal.”
Your soul is afire, you mind fully engaged, your body
tinges with anticipation and fear of the unknown only
adds to the certainty that this is your destiny and who
you were created to be and the purpose for you life.

My prayer and hope is that each individual finds this
path to follow for their life.  I believe if we all find and
follow that idea and dream for which God purposed
for us we will truly become alive in this life and that is
what this world needs is people who have come alive.
