Just this… don’t believe the BULL$v+! LIES

Bull$v!+ Lies

I admit in the time of uncertainty with the COVID-19 virus, stay at home orders, social distancing and the conflicting news reports I struggle with my own anxiety. Each day when I awake is another occasion to rise up as a warrior despite the fears that may come.

It is a time of not knowing what or who to believe. So, I will chose to put my trust in this…

And Jesus said to him, “‘If You can?’ All things are possible to him who believes.” ~Mark 9:23

And if this is true, all things are possible, then I cry out with this refrain.

“I do believe; help my unbelief.” ~Mark 9:24

The world tells us you to be, what to do and what say. The world lies because our enemy lies and we so easily believe those lies when we are called to be warriors.

In the words of John Lovell, founder of the Warrior Poet Society

Warrior Poets are those who train and fight for higher purpose. Warrior Poets become students of the art of war so that they may triumph when the enemy calls. ~John Lovell #WarriorPoetSociety #WPSN #Quote

I have shed many tears over the years. Tears of sadness and heartbreak and tears of joy. Tears do not make one weak, they reveal our hearts.

Jesus wept. ~John 11:35

Here’s to the fighters, the dreamers, the doers and those who will stand up. May we all find ourselves strengthen during this time and at all times. May we seek those who are hurting and reach out a hand. May we rest in the promises of the one who is yet to come.

Do not hide who you were created to be and do not let the world break you, for you are so much more than ordinary! ~M #Quote #Motivation #Encouragement #WarriorPoet

Reflections

Reflections in the waves …

Reflections in the waves spark my memory, Some happy some sad ~Styx “Come Sail Away” #Lyrics #Truth #Music #Memories

Sometimes we need to get away
To disappear and disconnect
Into the wild and unfettered
Away from the responsibility
The chains of obligation
That bind us day to day

What do you do to get away and disconnect?

Happy Places

“The best view is always looking between a horses ears!” ~Mark Wayne

Through sun and shadow
Across mountains divide
Down the valleys wide
Sitting tall in the saddle

Carrying our burdens
Despite the rain and wind
Two hearts intertwined
Tending to our afflictions

Sharing a little bit of sunshine on a gray rainy day in the Pacific Northwest. May you always have a little sunshine in you heart. Hoping you can always find a happy place and hold it close in your heart. One of my happy places is the barn where I occasionally get to ride my daughters horse.

Where is your happy place?

However, I Have Felt the Drift Begin

An older photo of the Columbia River in Central Washington.
The howling wind
Convicts our souls
While looking back
We search for truth
Along lonely paths
Hiding the regrets
However, I have felt
The drift begin

Struggling now with so many things. And yet I am trying to chose to continue to believe in a better tomorrow. My mind is confused, feeling lonely and this old picture taken years ago and these words penned in this moment capture how I feel.

Echoing the Backdrop

The rain has definitely arrived here in the Pacific Northwest and just in time some might say. Looks like another wet and green Christmas but that’s okay.

I love laying in bed listening to the raindrops hitting our metal porch roof right outside the bedroom window. Which we keep open all year long.

The sound of the rain mixes with the soft melody of the wind chimes that gently lull me to sleep. Dreams and memories travel through my mind as I rest in the moments of tranquility.

These restful moments spur ideas for my writings. What moments, sounds or experiences bring you peace and inspire your creativity?

Change this Way Comes!

Change is upon you whether you would risk it or not!

Welcome to my newly redesigned and updated author website. Thanks for visiting as I continue to actively write poetry, novels, short stories and my upcoming memoir for release and I would love to share it all with you.

I recently had several poems published in the anthology Broken Hearts — Healing Words by A.B. Baird Publishing. I am blessed to be a part of this great work that is dedicated to those who have loved and lost, and those who are hiding and healing.

My memoir chronicles my experiences as a young man whose young wife battled cancer and eventually died after less than five years of marriage. I was totally unprepared for that and did what the world told me do, get on with life. Well grief is not so easily put off as I have discovered over twenty-five years later. My hope is the book will help others, especially men, young men who have experienced loss when the world tells us to be a man and that boys don’t cry.

My novel trilogy is a three book series set in the present day that combines the battle between supernatural forces of good and evil with highly advanced drone technology. The ensuing circumstances force the characters to question their faith in both a higher cause and in each other as they battle for their very lives and the fate of humanity.

“Judgement finds us all, the question is only where and when.” ~Mark Wayne (From the upcoming novel trilogy The Chronicles of Faith)
