I am an artist attempting to capture a moment that may offer a fleeting glimpse of transcendence pulling back the curtain that often hides the beauty, the mystery, the peace, the mercy and love that we all crave. I endeavor through my art to use pictures and words to encourage and shine a light into dark places, allowing grace to be unveiled.
“To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived – that is to have succeeded.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
If I can reveal a moment that reaches your eyes, moves your heart and touches your soul then I have succeeded. But only if you take that spark and use to ignite the embers that burn in others into a blazing fire! I believe in the ‘ripple effect’, touch one life & you may touch the world.
To share the journey, however brief, is often a wonderful gift. I know this all to well as my first wife died of breast cancer at the age of 27 after a battle with this dreaded disease over the last 3 years of our 5 year marriage. Watching her fade and die, then walking away from all I had ever known and the future we had planned together was the hardest thing I have ever done.
“The pain I feel now is the happiness I had before. That’s the deal.” ~CS Lewis
But life goes on whether we want it to or not, we do not get that choice. I did the best I could with what and who I was at the time and I do believe she breathed a little easier as I held her hand until her last breath. Now I am happily remarried with a beautiful daughter who is growing up way to fast but she keeps me young, in this second chapter of my life. I wish to share the joys, the sorrows, the hope and maybe even inspire on this crazy wonderful journey that we call life. ~M

Hi Mark, I have nominated you for The Premio Dardos Award! I bet you are quivering with excitement… or perhaps you might be hitting your head against a wall repeating the phrase “Not another award, not another award!” You don’t have to accept this award, but I would love for you to pop over to my blog and come celebrate! There will be imaginary champagne, disco balls and a drumming cat! What more could one want? Hehe.
