Colorful WordsHe spoke the words
he thought she wanted to hear.
Words he hoped
would fill her aching soul.

He spoke of blues and reds,
of greens and yellows,
but never black or white.

She heard his voice
speak the words on which her mind turned.
Words that sharply pierced
her heart and melted the walls she built.

She had prayed for so long
to hear a voice carried on powerful wings.

He spoke of blues,
and as she heard the words in her mind
she envisioned a velvet sky of cerulean blue.
Not the dark cobalt ultramarine blues
that existed within the depths of his
sojourners torn and battered soul.

He spoke of reds,
and as she heard the words in her mind
she envisioned a pure heart of valentines red.
Not the dark burgundy crimson reds
that bleed from the scars he keep hidden
deep within his barely beating heart.

He spoke of greens,
and as she heard the words in her mind
she envisioned fields of endless lush grass.
Not the dark withering moldy greens
that carried a sickness he could
never ever truly recover from.

He spoke of yellows,
and as she heard the words in her mind
she envisioned an ever brightly shining sun.
Not the dark bright treacherous mucus that
fell from his mouth with every word he spoke.

He continued to speak,
as if every word he said would echo
on forever within her mind into infinity.

He spoke the words
he thought she wanted to hear.
Words that in the end,
were uttered only in black and white.

Be careful with your words, they hold tremendous power. Are you speaking truth and life in love? Or are you a clanging gong, not stopping long enough to listen and hear the need of others. #SpeakLife
